Hi and welcome to the sale of this 1961 Series 2 Land Rover 88. I’m selling this for a friend of mine, who has owned it for the past three years.
They are selling the land rover as they spend a lot of time abroad and don’t use it much anymore.
The chassis and bulkhead are in lovely condition with no rot anywhere.
At some point it has been repainted in its original blue and the underneath wax oiled
I just did 150 miles in it yesterday from Worcester to Borehamwood and it didn’t miss a beat.
I have 4 spare wheels and tyres that are included.
Good Points:
• Mot till June 2013
• Tax exempt
• Completely original
• 2.25 petrol engine
• Webber carb
• Chassis and bulkhead have no rust
• Door tops are like new and don’t flex at all and have no rust
• Foot wells are perfect
• Tow bar and new electrics fitted
• New starter motor last year
• Brand new original starter solenoid and switch
• Canvas Hood
• Interior is in great condition
• Rear bench seats
• Rear floor has been chequer plated
• Some history
• Everything works (all switches ,wiper motors etc)
• Four spare wheels and tyres included
• Serviced earlier this year
• Original Dynamo which works great
• Original Smiths heater including original Smiths heater button
• Chassis wax oiled
• I have the v5
• And many more
Bad Points:
• There is a tiny amount of damage to the bulkhead inside, just in front of the gearstick that can be seen in the pictures. (It seems a previous owner cut it to access the clutch slave cylinder many years ago) This can be repaired.
