Hi All,

Radio 1
Wers No: 7H12-18C873-BE
Manufactures Part Number: ME-6H3303LR-05

Radio 2
Wers No: 7H12-70447-BC
Manufactures Part Number: CE-6H3205LR-03

Radios look like picture below:

Ok, seems like a waste of time asking questions on this forum as you only get stupid replies. And I thought the Landy scene were supposed to be a helpful bunch.....

Part numbers are just that a registered equipment supplied for Landrover. They would have been fitted generic. Eventually the same supplier, would offer an upgrade version for Landrover after so many years as the radio gets old sitting on the shelf.
The part numbers identifier are for you from the Landrover stores if replacement needed. If you get hold of a parts manual or visit the the web to replace parts. Variations of the part number to denotes supply grade OEM genuine third party. Likewise upgrades are replaced versions, because of the supplier do not like old stock as much as the company buying the radios. Hence a radio fitted for 1983 ninety one ten to 1989 will be different inside from the 1989 onwards for defender range with a TDI engine and td5 improved electrics could probably blow the original radio. Hope this helps.

Hi, thank you for the reply.

I'm trying to find out which of the two is the one which had the MP3 option as this radio was supplied in two variants: XQE500540 (Radio/Single CD) and XQE500550 (Radio/Single CD/MP3). But I don't know which numbers relate to which version radio.

If it's a standard Landrover fitted radio the best place are the parts suppliers. John Craddocks worth a check as also Rimmer Bros. My guess is the latter 550. Original with the Cassette type a dummy cassette wth a jack plug fitted for the MP3 player or the alternative was a FM dongle on the MP3 player that you tune to the FM open station.
