Hi Guys, Back again.
My problem with the TD5 is still persisting so rather than drive it and break down along the road I thought I would do a test by running the engine at stand still.
So I ran the engine at 1500 revs for 20 mins, then took it up to 2000 revs for 5 mins, then took it up to 2500 revs for nearly 5 mins the the engine started act rough and as I took my foot off the pedal, it cut out.
I waited a couple of minutes then re started the engine with pedal fully depressed as would not start without it. Once started it ticked over alright, so I ran the engine for aprrox 8 Mins at 3000 revs and the engine started getting rough again so I kept my foot on the pedal and the engine went from 3000 revs to 0 and simply cut out again.

Anyone got any ideas, even the garage seems to be stumped.

looks like bad pump or injector seals to me... addapt a proper fitting to pressure gauge as to be ebale to fit it instead the temp sensor in the FPR and see the pressure with engine running(plug the sensor back as it's out while you do the measurement)... then if the pressure is good see how it drops when you cut the ignition...if it drops hard the seals are gone

sounds logical but with it happening at a specific rpm does that not indicate something electrical

off course, could be, i didnt mention but my intervention was based on the presumption that the OP will take your advice and get it plugged in first of all...then what i said is for the case when no fault codes are stored cos the fuel supply/pressure is not covered by diagnostics

could be crank sensor as well or god knows what but if it's management/electrical issue it should be revealed by the tester

Thanks guys - I will have to do a diagnostics first and check for codes.
Although The fuel filter is new as the other one was dripping all over the place for quite a while and it was becoming hard to start thus the fuel filter was changed and it seems to be worse now than before.
