Hi everyone,

I have a 1989 Land Rover 90 200tdi and I just had it cleaned at a car wash that used a power washer. I thought I would treat it to a proper wash as it just passed its MOT. However, this turned out to be a bad idea haha. Since then, the brake light comes on when starting up and does not go out when you release the handbrake. If water has gotten in somewhere, is this something that will go away when the vehicle has dried out? Unfortunately I’m not very good at Land Rover electrics and am wondering if anyone could kindly offer some advice

Welcome:)

Take the light lenses off and the bulbs out, a good spray with WD, then some contact cleaner, See what happens. Earths are always an issue usually caused by water/corrosion.
Dont leave it to corrode, it will and you will have more problems.

I will get to work on that! Fortunately the brake light seems to have gone out nowpanic over but will WD it anyway.

I will get to work with the WD! Luckily the brake light has gone out now but will WD anyway.

I actually think they are a pretty good deterrent, make sure it’s the type that pushes the brake pedal.
Have a look around as there is a Fred on security, and trackers too.

At the end of the day the scrotes will want it so if you can track it, if it does go missing all the better.
