Me and a couple of mates had a go at a day organised by David Mitchel from Land Ranger in Wales at the weekend. It was called an adventure plus day and billed as an extreme off road day where you should be prepared to winch and recover.

Conditions as you would guess from the weekend weather were tough and the mud was really heavy. I got to properly try out my new cameras and mounts and they seemed to get some good footage. In fact so much so that I had to do the day in 2 parts.

In part 1 if you check at about 3 1/2 minutes in you get to see a ‘special’ modification being made to nicely kitted out TD5! Oops!!

In part 2 there is some winching and some night time wading in the forest!

The route was in Bala forest and you need permission to drive there!

Yeah it was a good day. Learnt a lot thats for sure!

Just realised youtube has done some self correcting thats screwed the part 2 vid up a bit so I'll sort that in a short while!

yep another cracker mate, you boys get to some interesting places, bala forest looks EPIC

Its the first place I ever went off roading in a Range Rover Sport believe it or not!

I see your from Alty. I live in Hale. Next time we are going back I can easily give you a shout if you want to tag or along or jump in with one of us. Its the kind of place thats best when the weathers at its worst so I'm hoping we will be back Jan/Feb time

****, what do you drive again? Surprised I've not seen you about that's all!!

Yeah would be awesome if you could give me a shout, and yes I fully understand the 'worse is better' principle :p

Nice one :)

Pretty good.......one question though

Why the seventies porn music?

Haha! I thought this was some of my better music selection but there's no accounting for taste!

The truth is that youtube throws a spanner fit if you use copyrighted stuff so this is copyright free music and the choice is definitely limited! I've used far worse! Just check out my youtube channel. lol

I don't have mine here very often as parking is very tight in my street so I park it at my brothers house a few miles up the road. Is a big silver 110.

Oh right, yeah no more details required, security etc. there's a white 90 that I ze parked around hale quite often, but no silver 110 comes to mind :(

Ah well!

Cool

An organised trip. Costly?

Yeah its not the cheapest day out. Its £50 for the day. We usually take 3 cars and go 2 up in each and half the costs so that makes it a lot better and as its a fairly unique drive, I always think its worth it.

Its kind of like all the best bits from a full days laning but almost constantly so you get your monies worth. In my humble opinion!

You know how it is, you spend a fortune on something like this and you have to be careful. As I said though, next date we plan I'll drop you a PM.

I’m not really sure how interested any of you guys might be in this!

I’ve been making videos of green laning and off-roading for a while now and they seemed to be quite popular and have had some good FEEDBACK, which is really nice. Anyway, a few people have been asking about the kit I use to make these films and suggested I do a bit of a ‘How to’ video.

So here goes. It is a bit of a first for me but hopefully it will help people who are interested in doing something similar, improve how they film without costing a fortune!

The film covers cameras; camera mounts and gives a few hints and tips. As I say, it’s my first go at this kind of video so feel free to take the ****!
