Hi. I have a problem with my 2006 range rover td6.
The vehicle stalls when it warms up whilst driving, usually after 3-4 miles. When it does stall it does not start again until cooled down. However it can idle for over an hour without any problem. The only thing I have noticed is a slight rough idle. I took it to a local indy and havent got anywhere. All they did was fix up some loose connections and told me that if it didnt work the next step would be to change the fuel pump. I have no idea what to do, maybe some of you guys could help me fix it?

+1 to an air leak, the turbo whistle shouldn't be noticably audible, only if you are particularly listening for it...

Induction air leak would be a good call....

The L322 with the TD6 engine had 3 fuel pumps, on in the tank (Lift Pump), a secondary pump mounted on the outside of the tank under a small flap (these commony fail leading to difficult starting) and the High Pressure Common Rail pump mounted on the back of the engine!

Thanks a lot for your replies. Since they fiddled around with the loose connections it looks as if the rough idle has now gone. It didnt stall on the way back from the garage however I'm not so sure the problem has gone as the whistling is still there. I dont understand why after it stalls it doesnt start for half an hour or so. Surely if it was an air leak it would start when hot.
