Please can anyone help me with this??? I have a 53 plate, Range Rover TD6 with 95k on the clock. On Thursday of this week I collected it from Landrover having had a new, and very expensive gearbox fitted, on Friday morning the car won't start!!

I called the garage who actually sent a technician out to my house, the car does eventually start but only after about 3 attempts. They are telling me that this is due to fuel starvation and that the fuel pump needs to be replaced (more expense). The fuel was getting through fine before the new gearbox!! Could the installation of a new gearbox cause fuel starvation, perhaps by way of a trapped or damaged fuel pipe, or any other suggestions. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Dave.

I've done plenty of TD6 gearboxes - its an easy job that has nothing to do with anything near the fuel pipes or pumps.Sounds like one of those L322 things,it seems some of them prefer to be on a ramp rather than being driven.
People say Freelanders with the K series were unreliable - I think the L322,petrol or diesel is worse......

Thanks for the info eightinavee, it just made me wonder.

On the whole the car is quite reliable but when I get one problem, a visit to Landrover usually leads to another, and often within a week!!

I do find it strange but feel reassured by your knowledge, Thanks Dave.
