Hi everyone,
I noticed a puddle of diesel on the ground under the car. On closer inspection I traced it up to the back of the diesel injector pump and there was a steady drip whilst the engine's running from what appears to be the Pressure Control Valve on the back of the pump. The problem is, it's such a hard place to see what's going on, and it almost looks like there's diesel dripping from the high pressure line fitting where it attaches to the pump and then dropping down onto the PCV. Or, it's the PCV leaking itself. It's a constant drip at idle.
The car's done 100 000kms and it's an 04 model.
Basically, i need to first rule out if its a leaking fitting between the line and the pump....it seems impossible to get any implement in there to do it up tight....so before I get going in removing half the stuff under the bonnet to get to it, thought I'd just check if there's anything that's a common problem in this area....ie either the joint or the PCV itself and any suggestions on fixing? Or maybe its a sign for a new pump or rebuild?
Thanks in advance,
Marcus
