Hi all

Having upgraded from my p38 to my 2003 TD6 VOGUE there are some issues i need confirming,

There seems to be access play in the front propshaft is this normal,i have seen DLS do a repair kit for this or do i put a new prop on ?

Also i am trying to get the FBH to run, i do have one i can see the exhaust through the wheel arch,i am pritty sure i heard it running one morning last week not of my doing though and it was about 10 deg so well below 16 deg as it says in the book,it sounded like a lorry night heater,i could also hear a ticking i think it was the fuel pump.
i have read the owners manual but a little confused as my display screen does not say AUX HEATING only AUX VENTILATION i can get that to come on and off (little green light) do i need to get one of them FBH remote fobs,or do i need to go to the steelers or is there something i can do.

Many thanks for your help

KAZ

search 2.0_Hippo 's posts as he has managed to get his working again. Can't remember if it was a Diagnostics issue or a mechanical issue.

As for the Front Prop....has yours had the front Diff Recal done? if it has it should look like this....

diff_recall.jpg

If not, it may be your diff input splines are wearing out....search for information on rangerovers.net about this as there is loads of info about it!

If you don't have Aux heating on your screen menu then you do not have the FBH receiver fitted in the rear. All diesels have a FBH to get the motor up to heat quicker as it runs colder than a petrol. However you will need a receiver and a remote. there is a good amount of FBH installation info over on ffrangerover.com

Thanks lads,
My prop does not look like that does that mean it is a free recall ?
and as for the FBH receiver does that have to come from the steelers and be set up or is it plug and play.

Many thanks

have a look in the right hand cubby box in the boot for the webasto receiver and telestart Ariel if its installed its behind the fuse box,a new telestart t91 fob from ebay should be around 10-15 quid if you have the other bits installed

A lot of the X5 guys use a work around to fire up the FBH on the diesels if its not coded from the factory.Only having auxilary vent on your screen is a clue. It involves using a thid party remote and a little wiring. Quite an easy job to do.

Heres a clicky link to give you something to think about

Thanks for the prop shaft link as land rover have just done the recall (service action) for freeeeee, whilst I was there I asked two questions and I don't believed the answers.

I asked for a quote on a oil and filter change on my GM gearbox, he said you don't need to do that as it is made for life ???

I also asked him for a quote on fitting a FBH receiver and all the gubbins to go with it, he went away for a while and returned to say it couldn't be fitted.

Can somebody please advise

Cheers lads & Lasses

Originally the L322's both Petrol and Diesel were 'Sealed for Life' gearboxes....so the majority of Dealers won't touch them...

Best to do it yourself or get a good indy to do it for you.

As for the FBH...The Vogue Diesels should have this fitted as standard, look for posts or send a PM to 2.0_Hippo as he got his up and running again....

The FBH is fitted but not the rest, I have the black plug in the boot with the 3 wires in it, so do I just need the receiver, Fob, and to be programed.

Thanks

And

Front Differential Recall (Range Rover Mk III)

But I think the recall closed in Sept2011 and wa sactually a Service Attention (it had a closing date)...meaning if it hasn't been done, LR will do it at a service interval ...but further research is required on that I think.

Diff recall L322 ends september 2011
never checked mine but had no issues so I called l/r they said its had a lot of work carried out at hunters in derby inc all campaign & schedule work & nothing work wise outstanding whatever that maybe  said they will call me back today as work carried out is in codes so it needs converting :confused:

I have a fuel burning heater in my P38, it's called an engine. I start it 5 minutes before I drive off in winter and all is nice and comfortable by the time get in it, less stress on the turbo etc.

Does anybody else have a 2003 td6 vogue with a remote FBH

I thought at least all diesel vogue owners would of had from factory.

you find most original owners of the cars from new either lost the remote fob or dont even know what its for
