L322 Engine Oil ??

Hi Guys, Ive seen it before that people recommend to use 15/40 Diesel oil as apposed to the LR recommended 10/40 - 10/30 petrol oil depending on which auto spares place you go to. Anyone got any ideas of which oil is best for me to run in my 04 V8 Vogue

Check your manual. Page 273.

You can use lots of oil.

I recently changed mine and took ages to decide. I finally went for GM 5w/30 fully synthetic that will be changed every 7.5k. It's cheap on trade club and good oil.

It also meets all the spec for the right oil.

V8 engine oil:

Long life or fully synthetic oil.

ACEA - A3/B3; API: SJ, ECII and then choose viscosity band for temperature range of your locality. So 5/30 5/40 10/40 would be popular choices.

Hi All.

Looking to change my oil (2005 V8 BMW Petrol)
thinking Mobil 1. 5/30... Uk based car, typically sits for week/weeks at a time between use..

The M62 Runs quite hot from memory the stat opens at 106c I run a 5W50 in the M62's I work with and they sound superb on the stuff..
Far better than 5w30 or 40..

And the Vanos, it is far quieter with 5w50 I've found..
