Hi folks
I am a newbie here and to Range Rovers having just bought a 2003 4.4 Vogue from a local dealer.
I really love driving the car and it seems to do everything I need with ease. However, it does strike me as a prime candidate for an LPG conversion. Does anyone have any experience or recommendations regarding this fuel?

Hi,
Your best doing a search on here, it is talked about alot, I've had it done. To keep this short and not repeating the same messages, pay for a good install will normally cost £2 + vat, worth haggling (I paid £2032 inc vat) I did, do your reseach, get it done early so you reap the benifits. It's still not fantastic MPG but makes the vehicle more reasonable to drive. Got 17mpg on run on Petrol 15mpg on run gas. Normally average about 12mpg normal combined. Pety now near a £1 a litre depending where you go for gas you can pay 48.5p services or 40p at my local flo gas depo, or 45p shell. You basically get twice you mpg to your pound. Alot of people on here don't like it, but if you speak to people who have actually had a good multi point inj system fitted it's a diferent story, enjoy your new toy !

i got it! lpg that is on a P38 4.6, its great, makes a ridiculously expensive to run motor very reasonable indeed, it's got a multi point tartarini system that was fitted by previous owner.......saying that i would still have one without lpg!

Thanks Adam
I wondered why no one was talking to the newbie but yes I committed the cardinal sin when joining a new forum... posting before searching

Most of the posts relating to LPG seem to refer to the P38 variant rather than the L322 though. Are the systems, pros/cons virtually the same for any variant, with the exception of the carburettor models?

i have had my disco 2 which was previously converted to gas with a gas vapor injection system i would check from a few gas installers if a system is available for your rangey i used to work as a gas intaller so id be very carefull which system u choose as the wrong one could cause u loads of grief if it goes into limp home mode or cause other running problems.hope this doesnt put u off as their r some very good installers about one i would recomend is panache autogas in manchester if you contact them you will get a a good response either it can b done or not no bullsh@t but its up to u who u use depend where u live

Make sure you get a system that has it's own dedicated ecu that 'talks' to the cars ecu such as the 'Prins+'
