Just a little info which I think some of you may find helpful. I discovered this the VERY HARD way and would like to save some of you the same expensive hardship.
The OIL FILTERS fitted to a Freelander KV6 and a Rover 75 KV6 is VERY DIFFERENT.
The Freelander unit has a pressure valve and the uprated oiling system in the Freelander KV6 is designed to open this valve. HOWEVER, the Rover 75 KV6 will be damaged if you use the Landy filter.
How do I know? The hard way. I mainly build American V8's and some Alfa engines, but while recently rebuilding a Rover 75 KV6 I sourced the parts from Land Rover and thought nothing of using a Land Rover oil filter. However after very few miles the engine started knocking. I stripped and once again replaced the worn shells and tried again, but within a few minutes it started knocking once again. The only thing I had not changed/checked each time was the oil filter, so a little research uncovered this difference. With a new Rover filter installed, all the problems went away.
So, in summary, if you have a Freelander KV6 engine, use the Land Rover type filter, if you have the Rover 75 KV6 engine now fitted, DO NOT USE the Land Rover one!!!!!!!!
