Knacked door handle(again)

Push button.
The driver's door handle has come nearly off and it's the usual threaded bush pulling out the plastic handle pita thing.
I'm going to get a new one tomorrow but I was wondering if anyone has tried successfully to drill right through the handle to outside and used a nut and bolt?
I would use a stainless steel bolt, probably pan head, and recess it so it looks lush of course.
Unless someone's tried it and the handle is hollow or something and won't take the mod?
Also, does anyone know the thread size of the screws that hold the handle on?

Took the handle off today and it's cracked so won't bother doing the nut/bolt thing. New handle £8.40.

Ah well, cheap enough just don't lean on the screw to much.

Buy genuine and this won't happen. Genuine ones last 20 years, aftermarket last months.
