:) Hi from kiwi110 in NZ!
I live in Christchurch, Canterbury, South Island, New Zealand.
I have been 4WDing, first in a Series 3 109 hardtop, then a 1986 OneTen hardtop, since 1982.
My S3 had the 2.25l petrol engine, (worn out!) and I replaced this with a Mitsubishsi 4DR5 diesel, then drove it for a total of 10 years. Then I got a 1986 OneTen hardtop, with a very thirsty 3.5l V8, which I replaced within 1 year with a very frugal Nissan FD33, 4 banger diesel torque factory!
In Dec. 1993, my 110 got rolled over in the Arrow River, near Queenstown, New Zealand, and at the same time, I was offered early retirement from NCR (NZ) Ltd, so I bought a new Defender 110 Station Wagon, with a Tdi 200 motor, and ran a tour business for the next 9 years.
In 2002, I turned 65, and retired, so then I fixed the rolled 110 with 2nd hand roof, side panels, front doors, front mudguards and a new con rod for number 2 pot in the diesel. Now I go on all sorts of trips with Canterbury Land Rover Owners' Club, all over the South Island of New Zealand.
