Hi all,

Lately I noticed something new to the car, (Td4 auto, MY01), namely when I shutdown the engine it happens, not all the time but would say in 80% of the times, I can hear a kind of fan running out but in a 'ticking' way. It is not the cooling fan of the ECU, it is more situated, when in front of the car, facing the enginebay, on the right hand side of the engine (battery side) towards the bottom of the car, underneath the EGR etc. location I'd say. All by all it only takes some 5-6 seconds and whatever it is is stopped. Anyone any idea what this could be pse?

Hi Treev150,

Yes, I do, but that's located in the wheelarch and as far as I can hear the ticking winding down fan is situated in the engine bay. Also temperatures not that deep yet to have the FBH working, it also happens when outside temperature is let's say +20°C. The noise can also be described, more or less, as a springloaded something winding down. Difficult to explain.
