Hi I have a rr vogue l322 2007 with the ignition next to steering wheel.
The key won't turn in the barrel to turn off. I have managed with a screw driver next to key to get it to move to position 2 so it will turn off but won't move further than that to get key out and have had to disconnect battery. It will switch back on though.
It happened once before about 6 months ago and with spraying degreaser into barrel and using a screwdriver it suddenly just clicked off and has been fine ever since until now. it seems mechanical as had battery disconnected when it clicked back so nothing like a soleniod holding it.
I tried it just in case but it's not the gear selector switch as won't even get to that position.
I have stripped the dashboard out before to get to barrel when had the can't switch on problem (fuse 18 etc) so I know it's a git to get too so just wondering if any ideas before I strip it down.
Anyone know what's inside the barrel that would stop it turning one way but not the other?
