Can anyone help?
I was advised to disconnect my battery to try and get rid of a Sat-Nav fault (another thread!). Re-connected the battery - alarm etc going off - message on dash 'engine immobilised - press remote or key code'. I did the driver's door lock 4 to left, then key code turning key left and right. I managed to prevent the alarm sounding again but remote locking is still not working and it is still immobilised! Ooops!

Thanks for that and I have read the manual and put the code in a number of times but still no joy, hence asking you guys, cheers.

Have you or the previous owner(s) ever replaced the P38 RR's old duff RF receiver? If not that could be the culprit.

When people post the dreaded words "engine immobilised - press remote or key code", and it doesnt work, the RF receiver is always on the top of my culprit lists.

If your P38 RR still has Part number AFR1953 installed, you need to order and replace it with part number YWY500170 from your nearest Land Rover Dealer.

Or you could try resynching the key,as in the manual ! If the car will not respond to the EKA code there a are a few reasons why. 1, the door latch is failing.2,you have the wrong code.3,poor connections - esp in the multiplugs inside the A pillar.
Favourite is bad connections in the multiplugs.
P.S. forgot to say,you must have all panels closed when you enter the code, and rather than locking it 4 times, have the window open and watch the green sidelight lamp indicator in the instrument pack.Start entering the code when the green light flashes each time you turn the key to the lock position.
