Hello!
Moto Mcrae here from Tamworth Staffs. I'm 57 y.o. and messed around with cars all my life.
Just bought myself an 05 Freelander TD4 HSE. My plans are to fully mod it for expedition type camping. ie. Raise it up with longer travel suspension and bigger tyres, fit a utility roof rack with maybe a roof tent, high intensity led lighting, replace front bumper with winch bumper and maybe rear too. Fit pullout kitchenette unit with 2x gas burner and small fridge/cooler. You get the picture.
However, before all this I need to investigate the lacklustre performance! There doesn't seem to be much of a turbo surge, so gonna investigate inlet manifold for carbon/soot build up, EGR valve for correct operation (maybe fit delete kit),
MAF Sensor and Catalytic converter.
Hopefully the issue won't be down to the turbo itself!
