We are trying to mend a Discovery 300 tdi engine which started to slow down, wouldn't restart and has not fired since. We have done all the diagnostics incuding fuel, compression, inspections, glo plugs, cambelt, electrics. All check out but still no joy.
My husband is a mean mechanic and this is the first time I've seen him puzzled in over 15 years. We've even had advice from the local Landy dealer (who told us to run all the obvious diagnostics).
We're not the only ones flummoxed by this. Every one in the village has tried as the Landy belongs to the Landlord of the local.
I just thought that someone out there may have an idea or a hunch to follow. It's bugging both of us. Him, because he can't find a way in; me, because he spends all his time on it rather than gardening!
Please help if you can. We're not Landy specialists and this is a favour for a friend.
Thanks folks. I'd really appreciate your help for the sake of our marriage (he's spending far too much time in the vicinity of the local pub).
Regards,
Max.
