thanks to everyone that is currently trying to help me sort my air suspension out.

update -

we got the truck up on the ramp the weekend at my hubbys work (while he was at work) i changed the wheels from the 1st one we brought (lpg not working and on springs) to the one we want to use (plg working and on air suspension), and i also changed the brakes on it too, get me ay a women changing brakes and my hubby said "is there nothing you won't do" my answer no aslong as i know what i'm doing or someone can advise i'll try anything (no smutty answers please lol:eek:)

anyway, whilst the truck was on the ramp i had a look at the air bags/springs and the front pass side and rear drivers side look recently replaced (why not do all 4 god knows) so on inspection noticed the drivers side front was not in good shape the rubber had perished and rubbed down to the wires so we replaced this and the o-rings/diaphram on the valve block sat pm, and still have a problem with it raising, we went out for an hours drive yesterday and it didn't raise the pump seems to kick in and go off, but last week we replaced the seal in the pump and the truck worked perfect lowered it to exiting mode then back upto normal ride height worked great:) till the day after went down the motorway and "eas fault" came on grrrr:mad: do you think its worth replacing the pump ie getting a recon one there is one on ebay for £87.00 plus £9.95 postage or is there somewhere i could take mine to be recon/d that would be cheaper than one above??? the truck does go down over night when you get out and leave it at ride height so wondering if this is the height sensors looked at them too and looked a little rust so wondering whether to just replace them now whilst we are furking with the damn thing.:confused::confused::confused::confused:

Linzie,

not sure if you've already done this but after you changed the bag/spring did follow the procedure to re-pressurize the system before you went for a drive?

The site "rsw solutions" shows you how to do this.

Hope it helps.

Vehicle dropping is nothing to do with sensors. EAS wakes up every six hours and levels if required. It should not drop more than five or ten mm over night if parked on level ground. If it drops more than that something is leaking. If you changed pump seal and did not change cylinder that is bad practice. Always change cylinder as well as seal. If you look at cylinder it should have a matt anodised finish, if any part of the bore is polished it is knackered. And will have trashed your new seal.

Reading the above it seems you have now got 3 good airbags and one you have not replaced? I reckon you still have a leak probably from the remaining old air bag. You can check the compressor by taking the blue pipe off and running it with your finger over the end of the pipe. You should not be able to stop the air coming out. Island 4 x 4 do new compressor at a good price. I wouldn't trust an Ebay recon.

hi, we didn't change the cylinder, we are doing this with advice from websites and off here ie going in blind:(, but i do have the pump apart in front of me and the cylinder inside is very shiny:( also noticed that to replace the o ring for the leaf valve there is 2 metal/aluminium pieces that you need to take off to replace they first one is (as far as i can see good) but the very thin one underneath is split in half almost to the edge of where the screw goes through to hold it in place. What do you advise i do:confused: get a replacement cylinder and seals? do you know if they sell this thin piece of metal seperately?

feel like hitting my head against a brick wall with it at the moment :(

will try checking the compressor when we have sorted out the problems we seem to have with replacing the cylinder and the thin metal piece and the seal again, ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh FFS:(

thanks for your help once again:)

island4x4 is on ebay

Yes Island4x4 are on ebay, but go to them direct for a much better deal. (less overheads). Start with a new pump and re-con your old one yourself, as a spare?

To be honest i would get a new Dunlop compressor from Island, about £168.00. Find any EAS leak and seal it.
