Hello I hope ALL are safe

Today I put back the fuse on my fuel heater burner so it could run for a wile.
To my surprise I saw the passenger mirror releasing some steam!!!!!
I touch it and it was warm!!! I didn't know that the fuel heater burner would also heat the mirrors.....unfortunately the driver mirror doesn't heat up....anyone knows how to fix it? and if the driver mirror also heats up?

Many Thanks
Stay SAFE

The mirror heating is electric, and has power the whole time the ignition is on.
If one mirror isn't working, then it's not uncommon for the electric connection in the mirror to corrode, causing the element to disconnect.

It will have power to move the mirrors all the time the ignition is on but the power for the heated mirrors is usually switched on with the rear heated screen, why would you have the heated elements in the mirrors live all the time
Summer and winter?

On most cars this is true, but the FL1 mirror heaters are on the ignition live. Strange but true. They are PCT heating elements, so only warm to 30 -40°C or so, even in summer, they stay the same temperature, which means they dry rain off too.

I only notice today when the fuel heater burner was on ...never when the fuse was out....
And I didn't had the rear window heater on.....

I had a VW Jetta that was the same no matter if it was winter or summer the mirrors will always warm up
