Just bought a P38 Range Rover DSE - a few questions?

Hi there,

I am new to this site but have just bought a range rover and a friend of mine highly recommended me placing a thread.

I have just bought a P38 range rover DSE with 140,000 on the clock. There are a few problems that need resolving and I have a few queries which i wonder if you could help with?

• I need to replace the battery but apparantly there is a special way of disconnecting it - any tips?
• I am based in Wiltshire - can anyone recommned any good breakers for second hand parts? National breakers may be useful as well?
• I need 4 new tyres but think it may be cheaper to buy wheels with tyres - any good sites?
• I only have 1 key - is there anywhere to get a cheaper second key rather than going directly to Landrover?

Any helps or tips would be much appreciated as I am a first time range rover owner!

1, loosen the battery terminals,switch the ignition on then off,then you have 17 secs to remove a battery lead without setting the alarm off.
2,Longranger 4x4 on 07836598985 has a couple of LP's in for breaking and loads of stuff on the shelf - he is between Bristol and Chippenham on the A420.
3 Tyres - whoever does the best deal on the day.
4 Get a Key from LR,its done by Vin and takes up to 10 days to come.There is another place that advertises on the net but no one says anything nice about them.

i got a new key from land rovers a few months back, £103 inc vat. i wouldnt trust anyone else, apparently it cant be done???

there is a total of 4 keys for a r/r.

key 1 ash Grey in colour
key 2 black
these both work the electric seat memory
key 3 beige (or blue)
key 4 blue (or beige)
