Hello landyzone and all members!
I have decided to join this forum asi have always been an avid forum user with all my previous vehicles and as i have just purchased a lovely 2004 freelander Td4 HSE formy wife i thought carry on the tradition!
A bit about us!
So, me and the wife Natasha havejust moved to Kent afer having spent the last 11 years living in Germany due to work commitments. Natasha has never driven before July of this year and after letting her have a go in a courtesy car that was and Auto she is mow hooked! As a new learner driver i tried my hardest to get her to have a small run around to learn in, something like a fiesta or a corsa but she was adament she wanted something rather larger and so she started looking...............
Eventually we found her this HSE with 125k on the clock with cream leather and a fresh mot!
Cut the long story short, shes had her for about a week, slapped on some L plates and shes been out every day for at least 3 hours razzing around the Medway towns area....ifyou see us out and about give us a wave!!..... ....... its clear to say she loves her little truck! To be fairi do too!! Im actually considdering selling my van and going bck to the Green oval..... bit thats another story!
Over the course of this week of ownership it has been great and i didnt think having a freelander would put such a smile on our faces!! We have however, found she has a few little problems....
1, The radio is useless... it has now bass, lows or mid tones at all!! Andthe drivers door speakers dont work at all.
2, The drivers side rear passenger doow window wont budge( aftera few searches i think its the mech the motor is making noise but nothing else)
3, The brakes squeel real bad( pads and discs will be coming prior to winter), the rear tyres are 13 years old and are cracked real bad ( 4 new all seasons are needed asap)
And finally 4, the rear boot door doesn't open. It just stoped abruptly today, made the alarm noosewhen trying to lock up, window doesnt drop when pressing the door handle switch but drops and raises with the switch inside.
Like I'v mentioned before, shes a brilliant little 4x4 and I would like to get these niggles sorted for when Tash passes her test. Any tips and tricks would be greatly apreciated, and if I can help anyone out in the Kent/Medway or Burton on trent/ long eaton areas then im only a message away!
