3.6TDV8. Hi Guys, left car for about 3-4 days during this little cold/freezing spell we just had. Jumped in car Saturday night it tried starting but just never fired, then not even any power to try. Left it as was heading work.

Took a voltage of it as it is today it’s 11.29v. Battery was new in March of this yr. There’s no cd changer as that was a previous fault killing batteries with previous owner...

Just a bad cell in a newish battery? I know cold weather can bring these to light unexpectedly. Have even bought a brand new one before for another car and it came with 6v off the shelf.

Charge the battery up and get it load tested, and with the motor running see what voltage you get at idle and at 2k rpm with lights and everything else on should be looking at about 14.7 volts

Cheers, that sounds like a job for tomorrow. Will give it a jump as no charger to hand, let it tick over then test. Yeh anything over 14v to prove alternators good. Had to do this on other car few week ago.

I’ve left it longer before about a week, the colder temps recently have maybe got to it despite only 9 month old.

Where did the battery come from?
I had issues with ECP's Lion brand batteries a few years ago. 9 months seemed to be about their lot & cold weather did the trick.
When I took the 2nd one back the chap behind the counter cheerfully told me they reckoned to get about 1/3rd of them back during the warranty period - I'm trade & I don't think he realised it was for my own car!
