So my coworker drove off into a cut at work, 4' down and over 4-5' out into
a concrete DI (box where you pull cable tv etc. Impaling the Jeep. Tore out
the suspension but did not dent a body panel. For some ok pics:

Or go direct to: http://www.internet4x4.com/sprouse

All control arms bent, driver side lower control arm bracket is tore off
axle. Driver front wheel twisted like a toy. Radiator punctured from the
bottom up. Oil pan punched. He was out for a while and engine ran dry and
died. Had to use a front end loader to pull it off the rebar.

Look before you leap comes to mind.

OMG! Thank goodness the rebar wasn't a couple of feet more exposed. :-(

Makes you want to install a titanium bathtub under the seats like an A-10
Warthog.

If he had been going slower he would have nosed over and impaled via the
roof. Those rods are 14". If he had been going faster he would have gone
into the DI or landed flat on it impaling.

If he hadn't had his seat belt on, he would have ejected and that would have
been that. Very simply he hit it as well as you could hope for.

Yep, he actually said he was headed out the road he always uses, looked over
to hit the radio, saw white and gold flashes and woke up hanging in his seat
belt looking at dirt.
