I'm glad to say i will be trading my freelander 1.8 in this week and getting a mondeo. It has had problems from day one. Only had it for 8 months, still 4 months left on the warranty. The sunroof wasn't working from the 1st day, took the garage 6 months to fix. Problem with it starting from cold, it was in the garage for 7 weeks. Still not sure what caused it.

Glad to see the back of it, it has cost me about 4000 euro in depreciation, as none of the garages wanted it as a trade in. So had to take a big hit in changing it. But i'm delighted it will be gone soon

Hmm I done the opposite, sold my mondeo and got a Freelander. Got a good deal by buying it private (only just 3 yrs old and eleven grand under it's original price)

I have to say I have had my diesel freelander for about 4 months now and only paid for a full service and 2 tyres.

Perhaps you just had a wrong un, mind you there's not a lot to be said on here for the petrol version.

Sorry your leaving Dampsquid... good luck with the mondeo. I hope its an ST and nothing less.

Judging by the number of posts you have made - 3 it can not have been that bad, otherwise you would have been on here with more queries:p ;)

You'll be back............ asking which diesel is best?
