Erm...

Tony's the name - as you might have guessed - I've got a 96 Disco that's pretty stock standard apart from my new fuel tank guard, a front runner roof rack and a hannibal roof tent.... (must change my profile... the last one was a howling moon....)

Currently living in the Sultanate of Oman - that's down in the middle east, near Yemen, Saudi and the Emirates...

It's not all desert down here... heres a few pic of the nicer parts...

Previous Landies:

A 1986 90 That started out life as a Golf Club course maintenance run around then ended up shifting building materials before it came to me - where in the 2 years I had it got a fully Galvanised chassis up rebuild with 2inches of lift and a new bulk head - every and bolt removed and replaced if any signs of wear.... then it got a 200 tdi engine from a disco rebuilt and put into it - all the usal modifacations required to do that etc...

Then I managed to drive it for 1 month before having to seel it to come out here.... bugger.....

Oh well - start working on the disco to keep me busy... so that's me...

Toques... ???

It's very normal really here - for us anyway - avoid wearing shorts that are too short or shoulders out... the locals wear dish-dashs and Habiyas.... most of the time...

It's winter a the moment so getting away with Jeans during the day... wouldn't have thought that last year - you just get used to the heat...

No way - the desert is red!!! bright red and full of sand - those are 3000m high mountains you are looking at... not mole hills in the sand....
