Hi everyone...
Well since our last chat I have lost the chance of the SWB  however I am negotiating on a SIII LWB Safari :) ...already had a look...bulkhead needs repair/replacement:confused: , Chassis looks good, engine good (2.26 Petrol)all gears ok (well seem to be) has FW hubs and overdrive...I know it will be juicy but I am really buying to use camping with the kids in the summer....so fuel use isnt really an issue...intend to use it just in the summer for camping with the kids...once I have done it up a bit...hence there will not be much mileage on every year....V Reg with a years MOT...he wants a grand....I have offered him less, what should I be paying??????????

id have said 500 quid cause of the bulkhead. the 12 month mot complicates the issue.
how did it get the mot?

Eyup craggus4235,
I'm in agreement with ormus. The bulkhead requiring work will go in your favour price wise. Will the bulkhead be ok with corner repair panels and or footwell repairs, owt more and its replacement time.
Yer man will argue the toss that cos it's passed its MOT its near enough A1 and worth every penny of 1k.
I'm serious when I say offer him £500 telling him that he's only gonna see it once regardless of the full MOT. Theres plenty of 109" safaris out there with good MOT's on them.

Regards WP

Thanks for the advice...to be honest I have offered him 600 and he turned me down....wait and see what happens eh !!! if I can get it for that I would be happy....looked at the chassis and could not see or hear any rot when testing with screwdriver...but couldnt really see on top of chassis

Ok chap, but don't be suprised if he doesn't contact you. Like I said there are plenty of them about. If it were me, if and when he does contact you tell him you've got yer eye on summat else. That may force his hand. After all, its bussiness, we dont work all week to give it away..

Regards WP.

unless you are a mechanic, keep a golden rule in mind. never ever buy trouble. it just aint worth it.
as wesley says, there are loads of 109 safaris about, decent/half decent ones too. for not much more money.
