Under the Alternator, isn't that the power steering pump? The injection pump is more to the rear of the alternator and under the inlet manifold. On a W reg 2.5, if so it's leaking
I've got a photo but won't upload.... looking in from the front and right under the alt at the right side of the block, it's that the fuel/ diesel pump if so it's leaking.
Following the pipes is usually a big clueUnder the Alternator, isn't that the power steering pump? The injection pump is more to the rear of the alternator and under the inlet manifold.
can you post the video?I've got a video of it running and it's dripping from it.....it's diesel.
The injection pump is what the clear pipe is connected to, certainly not under the alternator.
can you post the video?
How does the engine start ,Does it take a bit o cranking then a bit of white smoke ,from cold.. or is it on the button ,the first symptom could be a leaking return pipe on the rear of the pump if it starts right up pump seals...
I've had a leak on mine got the seal kit and replaced the top 2 O rings and the head one now no leaks at all from itIt's the bloody pump i saw it now and think it's coming from the base, I've got a leak at number 1 pipe but not enough to run down.
So yes thanks for the link I'll see about putting seals in well either that or sell it for spares or scrap it.
Number 1 injector is the only one with a cup in the head casting that allows diesel to accumulate around the injector.Read the guide and make sure you understand it before you proceed otherwise you will be in a world of hurt. It's the bloody pump i saw it now and think it's coming from the base, I've got a leak at number 1 pipe but not enough to run down.

Putting in your location may prove fruitful. The pump can be resealed Insitu but special tools required to remove and retime the pump.Again thanks chaps
Yes I'll give it a go it's leaking anyway so can't make it any worse surely.
Once thing though is the timing of I'm rebuilding it all, I started watching a vid last night feel was to tired, I'll watch it later on how he timed it.
I've rebuilt the compressor but that's a doddle compared to this but as you say and I know too.... patience ect. I'll just get a good work area ect and see how it goes.
And yes I really appreciate all the help from here
Except a V.If you are prepared to pull the pump out then you e nothing to lose trying to do it in situ first.
