this is a pic of my series 3 bonnet hinge, when the bonnet is locked i can still lift it up at the back.over the years the back of the bonnet has been chattering and has worn small holes in the wings,is there anything missing?

aye, you get wee bonnet hinge bushes, just bits of plastic, cost about 50p from the usual suspects. i needed a couple for one of mine as the bonnet was bouncing around as well, well worth the cost rather than patching up the holes in the wings!!!

Got a couple floating around in me coat pocket, dare'nt put em anywhere else cause I'll lose em, if anyone wants em gives a shout...could do with freeing a bit of pocket space.

Thanks to bigchap noticing a problem I now realise that I am also missing a couple of bushes, but as my series is still in bits it's not really a problem yet.
But I am hoping to start putting it back together during the Christmas break, So I will see if I can order a couple from my local Landrover specialist Cheviot 4x4.

clivees,no i haven't got it started yet.the wiring is bloody awful and i'm trying to sort it out,i have spotted one problem, the left hand exhaust manifold is touching the inner wing so some whacking is needed!

I bought some of these bushes for mine but I 've found that whenever I'm working on the engine bay it's easier to take the bonnet off! If the bushes are added I don't think you can pop the bonnet off as easily?
