Is it the blend motor?

Hiya guys.
Question, we have a slight problem with our heating system on our rangie, it's a 1997 p38 2.5 diesel..... The blowers are working fine....but the heating on Mr Ted's side isn't working (yes i'm nice and toasty thanks ) is it the blend motor, would the blower still work and give out cold air if the blend motor had gone, or would it be something else, would appreciate any help on this as i don't want poor Teddy turning into an icicle over the winter...!!!!

Sounds like a blend motor,5 mins on Testbook will reveal what is wrong.

I had the dreaded book symbol with the exclamation mark come up on mine over the weekend when selecting windscreen only. Turned the system back to auto, turned the ignition off then on again and the book went away and has still not come back on.
Question; does the exclamation mark with the book symbol mean blend motor problems?
Why does it go away after turning the ignition off then back on, i mean if it's fecked then surely it stays fecked.

Is changing the distribution blend motor really as bad as other threads on here suggest, or am I just getting paranoid? Also, if 1 unit has failed, is it worth doing the other 2 as a precaution or am I just looking for work!!!

99.9% sure it's a blend motor fault. Personally, I would change all 3 and keep the good one(s) taken out as spares. The cheque book symbol just denotes a fault in the system from blend motors to low gas pressure and everything else. The HEVAC does a self check when the igniton is switched on and in borderline cases will stay off for a short while. One thing to try if you have a sticky motor is to drive the temperature control from min to max a few times and also the distribution from feet to screen the same way-sometimes it will clear it. To be sure, get it checked on Test Book, Rovacom or Autologic.
