My 1.8 hippo (newly acquired) seems to be veering to the right - noticeable more so at lower speeds.

Having checked the tyre pressures and sorted them out (they were all set too high) I've monitored for a few days and the problem continues...

Got garage to check tracking and it got the all ok.

What's next?...

Assuming the wheels/tyres are all ok, what else could be causing this?

brakes not binding?if no then you need to test the vcu if your are getting feathered rear tyres ,what year is it ?dos it feel like the handbrake is on ,try reversing on full lock dos it feel differcult, these are all the signs of vcu problems,if it is it will cost ya

Not sesasneraly!
full lock hand brakey bit IS expected, due to the drive train setup, cos its crap, So dont go steaming in to that one jatwap??? (jatwap?wheres that come from?//)
check the brakes firstly,(sticky pistons and the like) or thats the way i would go.
No offence smythe,just my opinion.
Ps if you feel you need to check the vcu, google ashcroft transmition, theres a helpfull "how to" on the site.

Make sure both fronts have the same tread wear, there is a thread on here somewhere about the pifalls of mixing new and worn tyres. Also check out the shock absorbers, a knackered one can cause all sorts of trouble.

I would go wiv the crazy Mondo on this one , one side is more efficient than tother, the side that is the less efficient is were the problem will be,jack it up and see if ya got binding or drag, best oh luck . . .:)

remember its 4 wheel drive so you my not be able to spin a wheel and even if the brakes arnt binding the vcu wont allow you to,if you`ve just purchased it ask the garage but they must know about landrovers or the freelander and its drive train, pre 2002 are the bastard years, post 2002 things got changed with BMW was at the helm

i always see things as 1/2 empty even when i ask for 1/2:D

Good point smythe!
you'll have to lift both (front or back) wheels,I would think,??? then the diff should allow you to spin the wheels, maybe? dunno?
Yer! just take it back, give em hell and let them sort it:D

i fear Ichabod Horsetrumpet might have something to say on that matter

Well when Mondo says a child bride he actually means she's younger than me. I'm 34, she's 27. I don't see the problem
