Freelander 1 IRD oil leak

Hi

I have an oil leak from the rear of the IRD where it joins the prop shaft. It has spun quite a bit of oil on the underside of the car. I will try and load a photo. Do I need a new TRX100170?

Are you sure it is coming from the IRD, is it not grease escaping from the rubber gaiter over the prop shaft CV?

Grease that's been in that gaiter for a while does tend to look just like oil.

Yes you are correct. Too far back for Ird. Thanks. Guess I need a new boot.

Agree with GG. Your front prop CV gaiter must be split - get it sorted and re-greased quick or the joint will wear rapidly.
