When i last posted i said my windows where working again after mysteriously going on the blink for over a month, well it seems i was half right they seem to work when they want to.

I took the switch pack out and tested for power going to it which it was and stripped it, checked it for power it was ok and cleaned it with a soft brush as it was filthy.

It was fine then the next day then it wasnt then it was and so on......

Any ideas would help.

Not that I wish to pee on your cheerios or electric windows, but some of what your saying can be put down to the BECM from time to time.

Other intermittent or permanent mis-operations to look out for are headlights, door locks, electric windows, fuel filler flap, indicators, sun roof and especially rear wash/wipe.

Before you start looking to rob a bank, check your Fusebox, this is a swine at times and could be at fault rather than the BECM.

You've already done what I would have done first that is to check the wiring and connectors.

I have no other problems with electrics, the windows just stopped 1 day for a while then came back on now intermitent and the fuse box was changed at main dealer i also check the fuse box any time theres a problem with something like this, i was hoping it would be something silly like a bad earth the becm wasnt what i was wanting to hear but was on my mind.

I hear that!

What I would stress is that it could be the BECM. The only way to check is take it to your local independent Range Rover Specialist or to an official Rip-Off merchant dealer....testbook is perhaps the only way to go.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you....otherwise I do have some links here that will fix your BECM for approx £450 and give you a 2 year guarantee on top....something of which LR wont give you even on a BRAND NEW one!

Unfortunately there is no independant specialist anywhere near me and i aint got the money to take to main dealers at the mo so i will just put up with it for the time being.
Luckily i didnt buy a replacement switch pack as i intended to cos the price of them on ebay is getting silly, i used to see them go for £20 or so then i bid on 1 and it went for over £40 and another 1 went for over £60 its getting rediculous.
