Hi Peeps.
110 TD5. The interior lights were not working. I put a new bulbs in and it came on,. but it also stays on all the time when switched to door open position. I changed all the door switches and now the lights are the same but the alarm will not set (2 beeps instead of going active) which I assume means that it detects that a door is open (this happens whether a door is open or not).
May understanding is that the door switch connects the earth and so door open means connected earth (so light comes on), door closed means no earth so no light. Alarm works on this but the opposite way around.
The wiring is shocking after the last owner fiddled with it (not as bad as some I have seen on there though). I think I must have an earth fault but can't figure out why changing all the door switches would like this occur. He did fiddle with the wiring behind the interior light so I am wondering whether this is the issue but why would changing the door switches affect this. It does not change whether any of the doors are open or closed now. Any thoughts? Can you disable the alarm so it does not activate itself after 5 minutes of engine shutoff? Cheers!
