This is becoming a nightmare already and he hasn't even passed his test yet. He probably will on the 19th but I can't even seem to get a quote for him as a named driver. It seems insurance companies have wised up to parents lying about the amount of use their kids are taking up driving and will now only insure your child as the main driver and policy holder.
I spoke to someone at Adrian Flux who advised me to get an old Series for him and insure him on that. It would cost about £1200. However, he doesn't want an old Land Rover and I can understand that.
Fair advice from AF but I don't have the space for another car at the house nor the time and skill to keep it on the road, be it a Land Rover or Ford Fiesta.
Any tips on getting my lad insured on my 04 Freelander? I uses the thing all day every day so it really will be occasional weekend and early evening use.
I know this has been done to death but it's driving me to distraction.
