Insurance range rover 2.5 diesel from 2001. I have inherited the range rover from my father, but the insurance premium is outrageous, cheapest £3,500c

Definitely talk to the insurance company and make sure they understand it's NOT keyless entry !! Most of them are loading all RR models based on the newer model "keyless theft" issues.

Age, Job, License Duration, Names Drivers, Parked on road etc all make a difference. Also don't over value the car - use industry standard values, and remove modifications like springs or power boost boxes.

Also try multiple comparison sites, they do vary a lot.

If your RR is (or could be) classed as a classic specialist insurers will often offer a good deal, based on limited annual mileage & even offer an agreed value .. however this type of insurance is not usually available for a daily driver as you need to have the use of another car for that purpose & in London they would probably insist on it being garaged overnight.

When I tried getting classic insurance it had to be garaged, if it was on the drive they would only insure up to £2500.

I've had the same problem in the past & we are in rural Essex o_O

Currently the RRC is with Lancaster for £137 inc. agreed value & it's parked on the drive. I'm apprehensive about the renewal premium due in August as my advanced age is also a factor.

That's cheap, even double that I would be happy.
