Insurance areas.

So I've been told a lot that being in certain areas affects your insurance premium. So i live in London (right next to heathrow) if I was to insure a 2008tdci 90 vanel van would it be more expensive as a pose to living somewhere like Wiltshire or Cornwall ?
Just getting an idea as to how insurance companies work.

Keep your question simple and at times reword them, and you will find the answer.

Your job could cost you thousands in car insurance - Telegraph

But cheap is not always the best deal........... You need to look at coverage of what is and what is not and your out of pocket deduction for claims. Some companys have a good claims record( paying for things) and some are just bastids to get them to pay out, and will look for every reason to not pay.
