I am trying to install a reverse light on my S3. I searched and found the following thread:
http://www.landyzone.co.uk/lz/f16/reversing-light-series-3-a-180037.html
so there is a hole on gear bracket and we need part umber prc9211 (picture bellow).

I searched online to see a picture of the bracket and could not find any (except one for defender 87-06 which I doubt if it is the same http://www.allbrit.de/UNI.cfm?PAGE=755834&FORK=369309&SPRACHE=en). Can anyone supply a diagram or photo or description where this hole on bracket or bracket is supposed to be?
thanks in advance

Not sure about a bracket, it screws directly into the gearbox on my early defender. My Series III didn't have a built in switch, and it was pretty late. Many people find it easier to wire it through a dash switch, which allows you to add a work lamp to the circuit.

I have a dash mounted switch for a worklight. For MOT time I turn off the worklight at the light itself, if the MOT man plays with switches it is not live as a reverse light. Works for me.

Oxides I think I better leave things to the way nature intended, but drilling a hole in my land rover I do not mind :)
thanks for the link to manual.
