Finally installed my factory winch , brush guard and driving lights. Was a bit of a puzzle as to what to fit first. Turned out we had to install the bumper and brush guard first. The two bolts on each side that hold the crush cans in place were pushed through from the inside of the frame to just flush with the outside edge. We then had to take apart the winch tray brackets and bolt the shorter one onto the outside of the frame by pushing the crush can bolts through the rest of the way. Finally add the arms that go to the tray and the tray/winch.
To install the winch we had to tilt the tray downwards a bit. Control box for the winch sits inside the engine bay where the SAI pump used to be. This is an older Warn winch and the controller plugs into a cable from the control box that is stored in the empty ECU box. Doubt this winch was ever used as the cable is clean and shiny. Last job is to see if the cover box will fit now that I added recovery points.

It came on another 99 P38 that I bought with the idea of transferring it to my offroader and then selling the car for more or less what I paid for it. I have to assume the original owner specified the setup when the car was purchased new. Does not look like the car had ever been offroad though. For one thing it has running boards and these are not good for offroad work. No dents or scrapes like my offroader either. Car also came with a Voyager Offroad roof rack and rear ladder. Pretty nicely equipped all in all. As I said, I was planning on selling it but now my brother says he might buy it to use in the winter.
