Just wondering... if an injector is refurbished professionally, how close would it's performance be when compared to a brand new injector?
Just been browsing, and it's a good job I'm sitting down coz I didn't realise just how much OE injectors cost (for at a TD5).

Refurbishment is essentially cleaning and any wear on the mechanical bits is not necessarily addressed.
If dirt has gotten into the injector such that it needs an internal clean in the first place concerns me. That's why its so important to have clean fuel filters.

TBH I don't know know much about the process. I think the tips are replaced smd the rest cleaned and then they are reset to factory settings. When I was foing the same I found it cheaper to buy 4 refurbished ones than to have mine refurbished. :( Bonkas
Edit
Meant to say, don't know how much wear occurs elsewhere in the injector, like the tip.

Then I would say that is not refurbishment, but cleaning. My 300tdi ones were refurbished with all new tips etc. checked over and reset to factory settings , So as far as I am concerned they are as good as new.

As for td5, ones, @Shimsteriom , only thing I would say is find a proper company to do the job, not just someone who says they can do the job.

Cheers

Yeah, 200/300tdi are an easy diy clean up and the nozzles are available for those. Not all injectors are so simple though and though I've not done a td5 I'm not aware of parts being available. If someone has a knackered one it would be nice to see if it will strip it down.
