Hi All (Im actually markomate but cant reset my password, hence new user name for now)
Does anyone know of a decent Diesel injector testing company in Beds/Herts area?
I dont mind sending mine to Diesel Bobs but would prefer to try a local place first.
Back story is that my D2 had a run away engine on Tuesday, 400 miles from home, BTW Aviva/RAC recovery are the dogs nuts, got me recovered home no questions/no hassle/no charge.
I managed to stop the engine using the gears.
Stripped down this week, I had changed the seals/washers 14K miles ago, no warning signs, stalling etc, BUT 420 miles before, I had filled up with sainsburys diesel and put in some injector cleaner, could have just been a coincidence.
Anyway, the seals were orange colour, I know they weren't LR ones. The new ones are LR and they are black. The seals that come off are rock hard, not good!
I drained 10 litres of oil/fuel from the sump.
So fingers crossed its not the head, coolant level ok, its a 2004 model.
Also hope ive not shagged the engine!
I read on another forum that if an injector goes tits up it can fill the rocker cover/sump with fuel. So I may as well get them all checked.
Problem is I have a cynical streak that says any testing house is bound to find a faulty one, so Id like to use a trusted place.
Thanks
Mark
