Injector seals

i never did when i did them on my td5 and never an issue, just give it plenty of purging before starting

I didnt remove any fuel from the head when I did mine.

Just make sure the mating surfaces where the copper washers seal on the head are spotlessly clean, use a torch to look down the pocket where the injector sits.

I used IPA and cotton wool wrapped around a screw driver (wrap the screw driver blade with tape first, as a precaution against scratching the surface)

Torque up the bolts holding the injector clamps correctly.

Put everything back together, then do purge procedure, by the time Id tidied up my tools, 5 mins, it was done, started first turn, done so ever since!

Hope you have not cranked the engine yet... I've seen plenty of TD5's with poor compression on cyl 1 often after injector seals have been done.
Remove the injectors, disable the fuel pump and crank it for a few secs. This will eject the fuel from the combustion chamber of the first cylinder that you removed the injector from.
TD5 engines will do lots of miles, but the con rods bend quite easily when abused...
