Hi Guys

I hope someone out there has experienced this problem before and can assure me of an easy solution otherwise I may have to curl up in a ball and cry like a little girl. What is it about defenders that makes you want them even when they keep going wrong?

I have recently rebuild the 200tdi engine on my defender and drove it about for a couple of weeks and everything was fine.
Just poodling along at about 50 yesterday and suddenly noticed a drop in power and heard what sounded like an exhaust blow from under the bonnet.
Stopped and had a look to find compression gases blowing passed the injector!
Can't find a thread on this anywhere and just wondered if this is as simple as an injector seal or is this normally a cracked head scenario?

Advice please, many thanks.

Try replacing the copper washers under the injectors...I know the 3oo TDI has these and presume the 200 does too, once the injector has been removed, they should be replaced with new
They cost about 38p each, mine was leaking on several, the washers have a raised bit round the diameter that sqaushes down when tightened, that makes the seal

Try this first, if you didn't replace them after the rebuild

Cheers New2Landies, I reckon that might be it. If the washers compress at all during installation then the fact I didn't replace them could well cause a problem.

Parts ordered, crying like a little girl on hold, hoping that all is well after fitting.

Thanks again.
