P38A Injection pump

is there anyway to clean the gunk out of a injection pump I have a replacement pump that I want to use but it has a brown skin like substance stuck to the fuel inlet side so it's a good chance it's right throughout it pump has been in shed for 6month

Has it been run on vegi oil? If so refurb will be required.

JohnnyCrash used to run his on some cocktail of WVO, I believe. Went through a few FIPs but he was doing some big miles.

Been running the wife's car on SVO for 3 or 4 years now no problems at all, Bosch ve injection pump
