I have a P38 with a v8 that wants replacing...no surprise there I here you say.
I'm asking everyone if they know of a diesel engine conversion but I don't want the bmw 2.5.
I was thinking of the 200 or 300tdi disco unit or any Japanese preferably 4 cylinder engine (Isuzu etc).
I don't mind if its an old or a bit underpowered engine.
I'd even consider a smaller petrol engine???
I reckon the biggest problem will be connecting it to my auto box bell housing.
I've looked in to replacing the box with one from a disco or japanese but these all seem to come out on the opposite side that the Rangie box does!!! ( to drive the axles that is).
As long as the engine is fine I don't necessarily need a turbo or an ecu controlled pump.
An old fashioned engine that is sound will do for me!!!
This must have been done by people many many times so come on you friendlies please advise.
