OK don't laugh and I'm sure this will get a few responses from the guys with "proper" Land Rovers but I was thinking of buying an inclimometer for my FL.

£20 on ebay but now I've found one for the iPhone in the Appstore for 59p - bargain.

The question is, what are the angles I need to set it at i.e. what are the safe angles of climb, decent and rollover for the FL1 TD4 3 door?

Thanks

owners manual doesn't give values for these angles

maybe you could have an experiment using your newly aquired inclinometer and post the results up on here ?

dont be looking at the inclinometer when yer should be looking where ya going, esp at a angle.

Fenders's stop at 90 degrees. Dunno about freelanders though.

well, entirely at your own risk, I would advise the maximum side slope angle to be 45 degrees. However, that is a LOT and I wouldn't go that far meself.

as for forward and backwards angles, a lot depends on the surface you're on. 35 degrees on concrete all day long, loose shale and so on, the tyres will struggle to grip anyway. Think it'll slide long before it topples end over end

now I have helped and I can go to bed with a clear conscience. (at least about this anyway, lot of earlier stuff on the forum I may or may not feel guilty about. Hold on, checked, no I'm fine)
