My full beam wasnt working and I damaged stalk getting it off and need a new one , turns out it was a fuse , I am really annoyed , to make it worse when I carefully , and it was carefully lifted instrument panel forward to see where new wire goes something came off back of washer switch and it no longer works so I'm not very happy , up until now I was enjoying Landy life but I've wasted a day on a bloomin fuse , can anyone help , I have included a picture of the snapped off spade connector and wire . If I touch this broken off spade anywhere of back of switch it constantly runs , I cannot see anywhere where it could have come from , all connections on back of switch seem correct , please , please help , my own stupidity makes the day worse .

It's the black and green wire hanging out from the bottom of the panel , could it be unrelated and its another fuse issue ?

Thanks , I've just figured that out , it must have come of previously because i didn't put any force behind it at all. I've somehow just managed to push it back into back of switch and it seems pretty secure , hate taking the instrument panel off thats the reason I'm never going to fix the speedo cable , thanks blue beasty for your help , new stalk ordered , that looks easy to fit , block connector and blue and brown wire on spades that are for some reason all in lower section of dash and not behind instrument panel which makes it a thousand times easier , if this was any other car I'd have driven it into the river before now .

if it is the wire to the washer I did that recently but luckily had a spare press switch from when a po rewired the horn, which I put back to stock when I replaced my stalk. so I stuck the washer wires on that, leaving the wiper switch as was.

I did look into a new wiper/washer switch but the only ones I could find were around £45 so I didn't get one.

Speedo is strange it does add accurate mileage and is great up to about 35mph but anything after that is guesswork

Another think I noticed is that although there is a green lens on dash for petrol warning light there's nothing behind it , not even a dead bulb , ..nothing.

Thats funny.............. I have a bulb and no green lens, or a hole for it to sit in..............

Dont find one. With little or no baffling in the tank the low fuel warning lamp start flicking on and off at just under half a tank and by a quarter of a tank left, its enough to bring on epilepsy. Drives me nuts.:(

The micro switch on the back of the washer switch has a small spade terminal which is held in by the screw on the micro switch loosen the screw and reattach the spade.
Speedo jumping can be loose output flange to rear drive as the speedo drive cog is only nipped up between output flange and the gear behind it.ie not splined to shaft.

mine hasn't got one were they a later item?
Mines made up of several vehicles with parts from 2, 3 and some military. I'm slowly replacing everything for the original 2 but the bulkhead is staying put. Its a good one. I just need to replace the dash as its doin mi ed in.
