Hi guys I hope this is the right forum. You guys as my last bastion of hope! I own a landrover 2006 freelander TD4 model.

Currently I have no brake lights I cannot for the life of me figure out what's wrong and am looking for alternate solutions.

If anyone here could be a lifesaver that would be amazing.

I have had a mechanic come out and after 2 hours he is struggling to find the exact issue as well.

None of the brake lights work but the other lights at the back of the car do.

Other issues I have had recently that may or may not be related

Car alarm randomly going off all the time, Fuel pressure sensor plug/wire issue.

And a problem where the tailgate of the car will not open. When I use the handle on the door the window just goes down instead and the door itself wont open.

This problem seems random and happens every now and then .

I disconnected the battery yesterday and reconnected it and door issue went away.

As for the brake lights this is what has been checked.

Bulbs are fine.
Brake light switch is fine.
Fuses are all working.
There doesn't seem to be any wiring damage that can be seen.

A multimeter has been used and no power is going through the wires to the brake lights.

The mechanic is guessing that it could be the circuit board behind the fuse box because he tried everything else he could think of.

I'm just wondering if there is anything simple we are missing or anything else it could be other than these things.

Thanks for your time!

Have you checked that all wiring lugs are secure, checked the fuse correctly, did you solve it?

Intrigued now!! Why ignore??

Were the brake lights working but you were looking at the fog lamps?? Common mistake.
Please let us know what the outcome was to help others.
