Ignition/start switch info/diagrams

me again, with electric troubles again!

does anyone have a diagram of the ignition switch and which wires go where? i need to check my glow plugs wiring and i may have an earth fault at the switch which cuts my engine! not very nice when your cruising down the M4!

i dont want to have a look or poke around without 1st knowing what im looking at. i dont want to make things worse!

have you downloaded the free manuals and had a look at the circuit diagrams? Not sure what sort of defender/ engine you have but I would imagine that the glow plug relay is controlled by an ecu. I know that on mine (300TDi Disco) the plugs are controlled by the ecu and actually stay on after it has started the engine for a while. With the slightly warmer weather, if you think its glowplug related why dont you disconnect them and see if that improves things? Not an expert on auto electrics but an industrial spark by trade.
